Outdoor Gear Sales Resources?

Post by Bob1035 » Thu Mar 02, 2023 5:14 am

Anyone into the outdoor activities:

Looking to upgrade my ancient backpacking pack to something smaller/lighter/etc

Is there a "watchrecon" or other type of good resource for used outdoor gear? REI has their outlet and garage sales, but looking for other options if they're out there.

FWIW, I dug out my pack last night, and found a cache of NIW pmags inside

If you are planning on buying a bunch of stuff, a one year membership to the American alpine Club gets you access to a serious amount of brand pro deals. I think it’s like $80, so not worth it for just a pack, but if you wanted say a tent, sleeping bag, clothes, etc. it is. As an example the discount for brands like Outdoor Research and Marmot is like 40% (or at least it was when I was a still a member).

Reddit has a gear exchange. I’ve bought a few things.

If you’re looking for a ruck, I’m considering selling my Goruck rucker 3.0 25l coyote brown.

There's enough gear collectors here you could probably find what you need with a Want-to-buy.

I like hyperlite packs. They’re high quality and super light and durable.

Second accent in Seattle has all high quality used gear and reasonably good prices.

I use backpacks from Mystery Ranch and GoRuck.

Mystery ranch takes a bit to get used to with their zipper configuration, but have great storage, light and once you get used to, is my typical day-to-day go to, vs the goruck which I use for bigger packing.

Goruck has its own website. I got mystery ranch through huckberry - which I recommend to go to for many things.
