Last track day in my Exige - Castle Combe 16.05.23

What a day that was.

Beautiful weather & loads of track time.

This video is some of the best footage I've ever captured, despite the wind noise. I don't normally run the car with the roof off & with hindsight I should have put the wind shroud I have over the camera.

I know the other Exige driver in front of me from last year, same track, similar time of year & the lead Exige (to start) was driven by a nice guy I'd been talking to earlier in the day.

Without wanting to give away too much, what happened at the end of the footage was both hard to explain & very lucky.

The tyres have now done 11,000 miles including 15 track days & are well past their best hence the wheel spin. New tyres going on before the car is sold.

Unfortunately I didn't film my best laps when I was concentrating on being really smooth & managed to knock 1.1 seconds off my previous best time from last year, when the tyres were fresher.

The Exige has been a superb car, but it's time to move on to something new. I should pick up the Caterham 620S on the 27th of May.

Wow! That guy in front of you was lucky. It seemed almost like his front left brake unexpectedly seized. I amazed he didn’t go into that wall.

Fantastic footage. Thanks for sharing. What the heck happened to that guy's car? Crazy. Cool that you caught it on camera.

I think he locked his rear wheels momentarily due to a clumsy down shift on a bumpy bit of the track (of which there are several).

Always enjoy the track day video's, and that spin out was crazy.
