Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2023

Post by logan2z » Sun Aug 27, 2023 10:21 am

I spent a couple of days photographing at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion (aka The Historic Races) held during the 'Car Week' events that just wrapped up and thought the pictures might be of interest to the car guys on the forum.

The photos are available on my web site.

I shoot film and still have several rolls to develop, so I'll continue to update my site as new photos become available.

Wow, that GT40
For some reason those cars have something special I can’t explain that makes them stand out.
Only other car that has the same effect on me is the Stratos

Great pictures Andrew! The GT40, as well as the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Corvettes always catch my eye.

Also, there is a picture of a small Ford, next to an Austin Healey, that looks kind of like a Datsun 510... is that a Ford Capri?

Thanks Joe. I think it might be a Ford Escort. It seems to have the Escort headlights and front bumper.

Really cool pictures. Did you have to get a pit pass to gain access to all those areas?

Thanks. Tickets allowed for paddock access which let me get pretty close without the need for a special pass. I went to the Indy Car race in Monterey last week which also allowed paddock access, but many of the teams had their garages roped off so I couldn't get as close.

Thanks guys, it was a ton of fun getting up close to the cars and the people who drive/work on them.

Cool photos, Andrew! Got my mind drifting, thinking what it would've been like (back in the day) if you visited Paul Newman's garage/hanger at the Santa Paula airport.. ...
