FYI: a Highlander remake with Henry Cavill in the lead role is on the way.

Hollywood is so completely out of ideas...

I did go and see Godzilla -Minus One. Fantastic movie :-)

It's insane that it was made for only 11 million.

Seems like an early Oscar frontrunner with a surely timeless performance from Connor McGregor.

How remakes of Patrick's movies are they going to fail at? Red Dawn, Point Break and now this?

If one goes in to the new “Road House” assuming that it’s the same ratty-ass movie for ratty-ass people that the original was, it’s a good watch. I certainly enjoyed it, given that understanding.

Not gonna lie. I really enjoyed this movie. Can’t take it seriously, which it’s not meant to be, but for what it is it’s hilarious IMO.

Ok I just watched the old one for the first time over the weekend.
I loved it… lol.
I also love 80’s action movies- actually that is prob my favorite category Image
I’m very refined.

Some cool things in the film-

Jeff Healy.. never heard this guy before… wow great guitar player. Love his music.

Sam Elliot- classic.

First Patrick Swayze movie I’ve ever seen.

Boobs.

Jimmy is wearing a golden tuna!

This is legit one of my favorite movies. Don’t care what that says about me. lol. I’ve probably seen it 50 times. I’ve seen the new one once, on a friends recommendation and now Im contemplating our friendship, Image .

I also do like dirty dancing, and Point Break is a really great movie of his.

I have a good amount of his stuff on one of my Apple Music playlists. He died way too young.

Beat me to it.

Red Dawn is Swayze's best movie. Also funny that he and Jennifer Grey were together in that before loving it up in Dirty Dancing.

Also ironic that apparently the two of them hated each other in real life.

They didn’t hate each other but Jennifer has said she was young and a little immature and wanted to have fun etc and Patrick was very serious when filming and he would get aggravated when she didn’t take things seriously or they had to keep doing scenes over cause she was laughing or screwed up. He thought of her as annoying and immature. So they just clashed on set.

^^
Yes Roadhouse was great. Julie Michaels dance scene towards the end deserved an academy award.

I started watching the new roadhouse but only about 20min in… will finish this weekend.

I’ve never seen footloose but it seems sort of gay. Not sure I’d be into it.

I have seen parts of Red Dawn on tv as a kid but never saw the whole thing. I’ll put that on my list for sure.

I gotta be honest. I like footloose, but it’s mostly because of nostalgia and watching it back in the 80s. Watching it today fresh, yeah I don’t think you’ll like it very much. Though Kevin Bacon is definitely the man.

Gotcha. Well I’ll tell you this. Dirty Dancing is not gay!
lol. I can’t help it, I love the movie, I had a massive crush on Jennifer Grey back in the day and the scene with the two chicks dancing in leotards to Hungry Eyes still makes we want to grab the box of Kleenex ! Image Image
