Maserati Murdered, Jag In Rotation

Post by smellody » Sun Jun 30, 2024 5:38 am

Well the neighbor lady, who obviously hates Italian cars, murderer my Maserati last week.

Each of the three damaged panels were $6k each from Ferrari.

With labor, the repair cost was prohibitve and the Italian stallion monster was totalled.

I used the proceeds to "downsize" from the 4.7 litre naturally aspirated Ferrari engine to a 2.0 litre turbo diesel Jaguar engine. Four wheel drive and 35 mpg will be good for my long daily commute over the range.

Enter my new to me Jag (or as Jeremy Clarkson says "Jaaagggggggg"). Jaguar F-Pace 20d.

Many of you may know I'm a bit of a Jag man. My first car was a '62 MK2 3.8 4sp/od red on black with wire wheels. I also had a '69 XKE. Still in my carport is my '97 XK8 coupé that I'm working on a LS1 conversion.

The Jag will be delivered Monday or Tuesday after some warranty exhaust and turbo gaskets are installed.

Happy motoring.

The impact also ruined the lip of that front wheel. How did she hit you?

Dang, she mashed the hell out of your car! That sucks. I like your new jaguar a lot.

We live on a really steep hill. A came around the blind corner and was in front of her house. Insaw he approaching from the bottom of the hill. I came to a stop and couldn't go any further to the right due to another neighbor's two parked cars. The front clip of my car would have been visible as she approached. I thought "there is no way she will hit me...." I was wrong, she claimed to be "blinded by the sun." My 32 year and her 56 year perfect driving records down the shitter. . . .

Sadly, I was returning from the bank with $800 cash for two new 295/35/19 Michelins for the rear. (The Maserati gobbled rear tires.)

I would have, but it wasn't $900 like I expected. . . They wanted 60% of what they paid me.

Jesus, it always sucks when someone kills your baby and it wasn't your fault. I still mourn my 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback that was totalled when a woman in a minivan pulled out right in front of me. Have fun with the Jag yew ahr!

Love my new Jaguar.

Image

Image

The Ferrari powered 430hp 4.7 engine returned about 23 MPG on my 74 mile each way daily commute.

Image That was a sexy powerful engine.

Just home from my first one way after resetting the every trip odometer. . . .

42.6mpg. The 2 litre turbo diesel engine is the bomb.

Image

Why can't the greenies let us have proper diesel engines in America?

Idiots!!!

I reckon I can be careful and get the mileage up to 45. This will almost cut my fuel bill in half!! More watch fund!
