Will Star Wars Return like a Jedi? Or has it forever turned to the Dark Side?

Was wondering if we have any Star Wars fans here. :)

As well as wanting to know what your thoughts happen to be on what Star Wars is today.

Because in recent years, it feels like every new movie, every new series moves further away from
what Star Wars always was. Which was out of this world fun, with amazing imagination, wonderful
stories, incredible characters, as well as people behind it all that loved Star Wars, knew Star Wars
inside and out. But now it feels like each new movie, and especially the new shows stray further
and further away from what Star Wars was.

Today Star Wars feels more like a bad Star Wars rip off from back in the 70's, 80's or 90's. With
uninspiring stories, and characters who don't seem to be resonating with the majority of Star wars
fans. Yet the people behind Star Wars still seem bent on making disaster after disaster. Seemingly
trying to appeal to people who either don't really understand Star Wars, or never really liked it to
begin with.

The best most recent example of this, after a fleet of underwhelming shows before this one, is
The Acolyte. Which seems so disconnected from a Galaxy far far away that it's hard to believe.
With the rating on Rotten Tomatoes currently sitting at 14%. Which is actually up from 13%.
So in reality, they have been making movies and shows that appeal to 14% of the Star Wars fans
right?

Meanwhile the other 85% of fans who loved Star Wars their whole lives, who bought every toy
and collectible they could. Every ticket, every VHS tape, DVD, Blu-ray, stood in line at midnight
for toys. Or just really loved the world of Star Wars, the feel it had, 'The Force', the magic the
mystery of everything Star Wars have basically been abandoned. Thrown to the side and even
made fun of for being truthful, honest about Star Wars today.

The truth being, that it has been moving further and further away from what Star Wars was.
Which was awesome, THE best, better than every other thing, out of this world as I said. ;)
Moving, and funny, well done, and well thought out. And just plain fun. However, now it seems
to have gone down a dark path where stories, characters, the feel of Star Wars no longer matters.
But can Star Wars Return? Or has it forever turned to the Dark Side?

i thought Andor season 1 was the best thing in star wars since the original trilogy. absolutely loved the darker, grittier side of the galaxy and a look at what the *non-force-users* world was really like.

acolyte is passable. on some levels i enjoyed the mandalorian and boba fett quite a bit. on others, as a gamer, i got a little tired by the end of both of them for the way it almost felt like you were watching someone play a game. a main quest with a different side quest or two every episode.

overall, i think a lot of people are making a mountain out of a molehill. if it hadn't evolved and they just kept showing the same thing, people would have bitched about that, too. nothing will ever live up to their 7-12 yr old memories of seeing the original trilogy

the star wars universe has been expanding and sharing radically different stories for a long time (at least if you read the books and/or watch the animated star wars shows). casual watchers may not know all of that other canon out there.

The best of the recent Star Wars projects were Rogue One and Andor. However, I’d say I liked them because they seemed the most “serious” and I highly doubt I’d have enjoyed them as much if I were the age I was when the original trilogy was released.

I agree Andor and Rogue One are very good.

I'd rate them as follows:

1) Andor was by far the best. (As was Rogue One)
2) Mandalorian ( some seasons were a waste)
3) Obi-Wan
4) Boba Fett
5) Ahsoka
6) Not going to waste my time on the woketard Acolyte series

We need another "Yoda"... his light saber fights were the best!
