Chr Ward C9 5-Day

Post by marchone » Wed Aug 24, 2016 4:30 am

Hodinkee posted a good review of CW's new C9 5-day small seconds handwinder. Looks really well done at under $1800 on strap. It's a bit big for a dress watch @ 40mm but fine for daily office wear.

Wish it was a 38MM but overall like it, especially the 60/60 policy..

I like everything about it.

Crazy that Hodinkee has this watch right after the slam thread they did about the Austin Martin version. Maybe CW put them on payroll?

Question. When did 40mm become large for a dress watch?

That's a good looking watch. The position of the date window is just about perfect.

Probably about the time people started wearing dress watches.

I like this one a lot, but I didn't understand people's issue with their logo - until now. It dominates the dial of this watch.

I like many of the Chr Ward Designs, but their goofy logo keeps me away.

Yep. Give me a Stowa any day over this, even with the nice movement.

The new Stowa logo is worse. I wish they would keep the old logo on the Marine Originals.

Girls, let it go with the logo already. This is a good watch. Better at 38mm I agree. Even 39. 5-day twin barrel HW! Lotsa dial here.
