Longines VHP

Post by marchone » Tue Mar 14, 2017 8:36 am

PSA

Straight outta Hodinkee. Resurrected Longines VHP line starts with 41mm field watch at $940 MSRP. 43mm model and chronos too. For those unfamiliar they are 10 sec/yr thermocompensated quartz alternatives to GS and Citizen, among others.

I appreciate these high end quartz watches, but this model does nothing for me.

Those crown guards... are they historical or something?

TC Quartz plus 10 year battery makes a nice combo. Better without a date as you would only need to adjust twice per year. Was going to say that the price is high for a Longines Quartz, but I have payed more for a Quartz Tuna.

VPH has a perpetual calendar feature.

A TC quartz no date historical pilot from Longines would be cool but it'll never happen. They discontinued their no date Legend Diver as it was.

The blue chrono is interesting, the 3 handers less so...
