Naming your sewing circle ...

has anyone done it? A sewing circle can be as tight knit (no pun intended) as a bowling team or a motorcycle club. Both of which often times "name" their group. The girls and I were tossing around a few names for our sewing circle, and even thought of designing some cool patches. We were thinking about coming up with a secret handshake, an official "circle" patch, and even considered an initiation such as "jumping in" new members. What do you think? Does anyone have any cool names for their sewing circle? Thanks in advance.

Well me and a few local buddies unofficially call our group the "circle jerks". Kinda dorky but funny too. Just an idea.

I am a member of the BQSKSFTBOAK - The Bluegrass Quilting Sewing & Knitting Society for the Betterment of All Kentuckians. We have a great time, girl!

We're informally know as the "Mad Quilters" amongst ourselves but more formally known as the Upper Middle Northern Quilting Guild.

Pretty cool names so far. The girls and I are looking for something a bit more "rebel". I like "Sons of Linen", "Nomad Quilters", or maybe "Threadbare Bitches".

Dom, sorry, but those rules are way too stringent. BQSKSFTBOAK is nothing like that - we routinely try to recruit new members, sometimes door to door - there's a lot of quilting going on in Kentucky. Heck, we even have our own quilting museum back in my old home town http://www.quiltmuseum.org/index.htm Y'all don't know what yer missing!
