Tudor's Black Bay Ceramic One

Have you guys had time to see Tudor's Black Bay Ceramic One already?

This new watch in it's prototype form will be shown at Only Watch 2019.
Having specifications like a 41mm bead blasted matte black ceramic case,
200m WR, a domed sapphire crystal, black PVD titanium unidirectional
rotating bezel, grained domed matte black dial with black luminous hands,
and markers with green color. In addition, you have a nybrid black alligator
leather strap, rubber strap, along with special calibre Tudor MT5602 COSC
certified automatic underneath things.

Not really feeling the design on this. And these black on black on black watches are really difficult to read. I recently tried out the Hamilton khaki field chrono with the pvd case and dial (this watch):



Couldn't read it without serious effort. I think it would be the same with this Tudor.

It is definitely not me. Beyond the legibility issues, way too "tacticool," way too noticeable, and way too thick. Glad I got a chance to try it, but it was with me for the proverbial cup of coffee. Hamilton does a stainless version with a suede strap that would be more my style, but it's just too thick for my wrist.

It's looking more and more like they lucked into the Pelagos, BB, and THC. Everything since then has either been less good or a derivative of those basic designs.

And they screwed up the movement on the GMT, which is probably their major highlight of the last couple of years along with the BB58.

That P01 is a SHITTA as archie luxury would say.

The wait on the GMTs is due to a movement flaw. No kudos for that.

That flaw was certainly a bad situation with it being on such a popular model. Rolex/Tudor share a single R&D lab so it was certainly surprising. Maybe that is why they are being slow to introduce more models with the new movements developed for the 58 and GMT.

Rolex had well documented issues with the 3186 movement in the GMT's awhile back so perhaps not a surprise. I believe it was a bad jump hour or date spring. Similar situation where lots of people on forums had the issues but Rolex barely said a word to acknowledge and silently fixed them while upgrading the spring on newer versions.
