Rolex funny

Post by TIMUR » Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:07 pm

Dropped off my Mark II DSSD for service. Its about 6 years old. Been on 50+ dives. All over the world. Generally a beater. So i sleep better with new seals and movement re-lube...

Anyhow. Got a call from my dealer today. Rolex is charging me for a new diver extension thing, because I sent the watch in without it.

Talking about fuckery

Hahahaha nothing like building such strong rapport with an AD, that you’re willing to threaten him with your nuts.

You guys will notice he refers to the photos as “my nutsack pictures” and not “pictures of my nutsack”

Forget about the Rolex...the bigger question is; does Tim like to photograph his junk or does he have a collection of photos of other guys nutsacks.

Assuming Rolex hasn't completed the service and won't budge on the new extension, have your AD request that the watch be returned to you unserviced. Re-install the extension and send it back in. PITA, but has to be better than whatever Rolex will charge your for a new extension.

Or just get it back and send it to LA Watchworks.

This is kind of like a Honda dealership refusing to work on a tuner car that has had the emissions programming nerfed. Except it's not State/Federal pollution laws we are dealing with, it's just a watch. Elitist snobbery is what it is.

I don't think it is.

More like the dealership not wanting to do an oil change because you took out the spare tire.

Update

Dealer was very proud that he managed to save me $450... last time I am dealing with this shop. Gonna send them nutsack postcard too.

Interesting factoid. I didn’t want case/bracelet re-finished, so the price went down to $750 from $1200 for the “full job”

I dealt directly with Dallas RSC and a basic full service for a 3-hand model is $750, so your dealer must have added some profit for handling the deal.

I was told that the estimated cost from Rolex on a 3 hand service is now 750-1200. So I am not to surprised this was that high.

I should have my official estimate by Tuesday and will advise. They told me $750 unless it needs a new crown, tube, etc.

If it comes in more than I expect then it’ll be for sale soon.
