Too bad for the riveted bracelet
I honestly don't even notice the rivets on mine, I wouldn't pass on the watch over them. The BB58 is setting a longevity record for me, two years of near daily wear, which for me means it's a keeper. I like the new blue one but it wouldn't make sense for me to have both in my tiny collection.

Some watches just work.
The Sinn 556i is, somewhat surprisingly, getting most of my wrist time since I got it from Todd.
Is it because it’s a passe-partout watch that works ok in a business setting but is “adventurous” enough that I can bring it camping? Is it the fact that it’s gaining 10 seconds every month (!)? Is it the size that works for me?
Don’t know.
The BB58 also looks like one of them potentially.
If I have to be picky I am afraid there’s a tad too much blue, and I would have preferred a more standard bracelet.
But my real fear is I already own a 14060M, in the last two-three years my collection has become much more stable, I don’t know if it’s me who has changed or I just found the “right” watches.
in general I like boring watches it seems
Having the right watches is a good thing. There are very few, if any, watches that would bump a 14060 off my wrist. If I'm honest the BB58 is probably a surrogate for my 14060s that got away.

Yeah, a 58 would be somewhat redundant to a 5 digit sub. I wore my 58 daily for about 18 months and sold it to get a 5 digit Sea Dweller. Even the thicker SD wears very similar to the 58 as other than the caseback, it is similar. The advantage of the 58 was the modern movement, 70 hour power reserve, and the fact that I didn't have to worry about damaging it so I wore it everywhere.
I daily wore a 556i for awhile as well several years back. Size and comfort does fill a similar niche, and the fact that the Sinn is rugged, has a screw down crown and can look fine in business attire.

Amen. Hoping prices get reasonable. It’s at the top of my list.

I think they nailed the shade of blue. Tudor can milk the 58 line for the next few years and sell a ton of watches. Assuming they will eventually get around to an all black/silver version, GMT, etc...
Nice modern version of this.

It does look really good now that there are some pics without the plastic. I agree Tudor will sell a lot of these.

If I have to be picky i find the hands a bit too long.
They’re probably using the same hands of the regular BB?
The hands extend to the painted ring around the perimeter of the dial, just like in the original 1958. The 41mm version's hands extend to the same ring, so they must be unique hands to each version. Rolex Sub hands stop at the inside of the second tick marks, which is different from Tudor. Never bothered me either way.

I heard an AD describe it as the same shade of blue as the BB 41 blue dial.

Looks great, Tudor will sell a lot of these, really cool watch for the money.
For me, I will pass... I find my Sinn 104 with blue dial and the new Seamaster more interesting for a blue dial watch. Of course, if I didn't have the OG BB58, I may think differently.
Now, if Tudor releases an LE with piss lume in the future....
