I also love how the whole theme was "OUT OF THE BLUE", and yet:

1) Rolex just released the Submariner AGAIN, and
2) The only blue watch they released was in WHITE GOLD. A big "fuck you" to rabid fans.

Interestingly, they downgraded to a Twinlock crown.

Agree. Best sport Rolex ever (IMO).

Lugs are a big improvement on the new ones, and 41mm is fine.

I never warmed up to that one Rob.
When it was first announced I drooled because it looked perfect with right lugs and all. But when I tried it on several times it was too tall for its diameter and wobbled on the wrist. Also the dial appeared smaller against the bezel. From how poorly it sold and eventually quickly discontinued I imagine it was not liked by many.

Gotta be a typo. Clearly a Triplock with 3 dots.

On the page that shows all the Subs they also have this:

You are probably right Art, about why it was discontinued. When I replaced my 16800 with the 116600 I felt the opposite though, the 16800 felt too small for me, but the 116600 wore much better. Maybe my wrist size/shape.

PS - Props to the guy that makes your straps, they are great

I’ve never tried 16800 variant. My first Rolex was 16610 and I loved it for a few years. But it was kinda small and eventually felt outdated and not in a cool vintage vibe kinda way. If 16800 was like that then I can totally see how you fell in love with 116600

I really wish it was 42mm. That being said, I’m already on the list at the AD, and will just sell it if I don’t like it.

The lugs are definitely slimmer. I like that.

I like it too and I’m on “the list” but I recall speaking with LAWW and they can slim down the lugs on the 114060, but it would end any remaining Rolex warranty. The positive to this is retaining the 20mm lug width. They also said they could do lug holes if desired.

Interesting order you placed those in.

Just FYI, your AD definitely gets blacklisted if you flip too quickly... unless you sell it without the warranty card :D.

I would sell it in-house, so as not to ruffle any AD feathers.
