Hamilton just announced the Daytona-esque Jazzmaster Performer series that might keep you going in the meantime... ;)

I thought the same thing.

Its the closest i have seen other than the seiko solar chronos to the daytona.

It is bigger - 42mm and 22mm lugs. vs 40mm and 20mm lugs.

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now

I really wish they had left off the date.

A better option would be a used Tudor

Genuine Daytona case & they beat Rolex to the black bezel by many years.

I think this looks far better than a modern Daytona. Movement is pretty cool as well.... and didn't Rolex used to use a reworked El Primero movement in the Daytona back in the 80's before they figured out how to make an in-house auto chronograph?

I don't know when / how long they used it, but yes indeed Rolex used an El Primero in the Daytona.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They used it into the late 90’s.
