Need help on a wife watch…

Post by Wario406 » Tue May 02, 2023 7:49 pm

Looking at this. What should I be thinking about before purchasing? What are concerns and how can I address them? How do I validate it’s a real Rolex and worth the coin? Seems really nice, but Im super afraid, especially since eBay wont validate because it’s custom. It also seem steeply priced.

Thanks! Xoxo.

I’m kinda disappointed…..was thinking you wanted someone to look after the Mrs. while you went fishing.

Fishing? That’s lame.

Just sayin.

No way I touch custom, especially from Fleabay. Ladies sized watches are much easier to get from an AD and it’s just not worth the potential nightmare. More red flags too based on the “photos” but I’d 100% walk away from this if you were being serious.

I wish I had better advice, but there has got to be a better way to drop $10k on your watch than roll the dice with a custom ebay special. You can buy a used two tone ladies Datejust for half that from a reputable seller and take it to a jeweler to have it customized yourself.

Or look at something like this that is already semi-blinged.

Have her wear a Monta triumph for a few days.

She may want it.

And then you buy another watch to replace.

That’s good strategy. And rationalization. Lol

And a Rolex ad may have watches like this. Brand new.

It’s the sport models they have lists for.

Price aside - how would one validate that it’s a real rolex?

Rolex will not because it’s been modified. You need to get movement photos, as well as photos between the lugs and bracelet/clasp markings.

And even then, it’s not a sure thing. Don’t do it.

Agreed. The first two “photos” appear to be photoshopped (note the sharp lugs and grainy appearance) and the case side photos show very rounded and over polished lugs.

Does your wife wear a watch full time already? If not I would get her something like and Omega quartz, but definitely not that turd.

Except for the girl that finally talked me out of my little Explorer I, Cartier quartz for the lady on my arm. New...from an AD.
