Pepsi Rumors

Post by MDF » Mon Oct 02, 2023 2:45 pm

I’m seeing a lot of watch videos on YouTube speculating that the Pepsi will be discontinued because the ceramic bezel is so hard to make specially red ceramic. What do you all think? Even I f I get on the list now I may never see one and that sucks!

Mark

No one knows for sure except Rolex, it’s all speculation and hype IMO. There are micros (china) that have been producing ceramic red/blue bezels for many years, even before Rolex launched the current BLRO, so I highly doubt production concerns would be the reason for them to discontinue it. Who knows, though.

The submariner is being discontinued, along with all other SS Rolex references.

Not buying it.
They made blnr first because they couldn’t figure out how to make Pepsi colors at first but then they took a few years and worked it out. I don’t see why it’s a problem all of the sudden. Who knows

So this rumor is all because a bezel is too hard to make? That’s odd. Rolex throws in the towel on an iconic model because it’s difficult to make even thought they’ve made thousands of them already?

What the rumors are saying is to get the bezel up to their standards specifically the red ceramic causes a lot of waste bezels I am only relaying what the rumors are and I hope it’s all BS because I love the Pepsi! If this is true maybe they should find another material or invent one for the bezels.

I heard Rolex is going to use AI to lead the design of new watch updates and it’s going to strongly favor search engine results, so we better start searching for the changes we want.

For me it’s “lug holes + matte dial + two liner + red text”. 🫶

^ LOL I agree with all that! Lug holes Red text love it. AI would probably come up with some really weird shit that nobody wants.

I think this rumor is non-sense. Why is a company like Steinhart able to make a GMT watch with a ceramic pepsi bezel with no problem? And their entire watch costs less than the price tag on the ceramic insert on the Rolex.

Don't get me wrong here I am not suggesting that the Steinhart watch compares to the Rolex in quality, but it does have a ceramic two color bezel. I don't think Rolex has any trouble at all making that type of insert in any color.

I own a Rolex Pepsi GMT and a Steinhart GMT with a blue / black bezel.

From what I’ve read recently, the Rolex bezel is made from one single piece of ceramic containing two colors, which is much harder to manufacture than a two piece bi-color bezel like other brands. I have no idea if this is accurate, but it makes sense. I also wondered what the “problem” was if so many micros do it.

I heard from a very, very reliable source that the true story is that Rolex has been using Alien technology captured from a downed flying saucer up until now. Now the Venusians have come to take it back, so no more of the red and blue bezel inserts. I will be selling my Pepsi GMT for $100K next year.

I'm so sick of this shit. Elon Musk can send rockets into space but Rolex can't produce a fucking bezel? The ceramic bezels suck regardless of color.

If I were running Rolex I’d have made an aluminum bezel version of the Submariner, with lug holes & matte dial. Call it Submariner “Heritage” and sell a ton, even as same price as the ceramic.

But I’ve been saying this for years and it hasn’t happened, so not holding my breath.
