SDR bezels with wabi?
SDR bezels with wabi?
inspired by the main forum wabi thread of course...
Like a few here, i've owned a few U1s -- the other true testament to being a watch addict other than MM300 of which i've owned 3 times too -- but they've all been the conventional U1 model.
It's my understanding the SDR bezel is tegimented? But it's also PVD to my understanding, and PVD does wear faster than say a true DLC according to some guns, especially with holstering. Is it a PVD or more like DLC?
I'm interested in the U50 SDR but am wondering if there's some pics of worn U1 SDR bezels, because i can't seem to find any. Figure the U1 has been around long enough to see some examples
In the very unlikely case I actually keep this watch , I'm just wondering how tastefully they wear assuming they wear at all, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Re: SDR bezels with wabi?
Not a direct answer, but I haven't seen many (any?) pics of Sinn divers with any sort of significant wear, at least online. I can't comment as to whether they are just super durable, or primarily desk divers, or both?
Just my observation. As a fan of well loved watches, I hope some of youz guyz post some nice hellandback Sinns!

Re: SDR bezels with wabi?
I had a 2011 U1 , no noticeable wear. Just sold my 2011 EZM-2 Hydro, the only thing that showed any wear was the SS bezel. The paint was coming out of the numbers, other that that - it looked very fresh. I dont think Sinns know how to spell wabi…

I’ve owned two U1s with the SDR bezels, the first for 7-8 years and the second for about 5 years. Worn doing lots of stuff and no wear on either.
Re: SDR bezels with wabi?
See, there's some part of me that wants it to tastefully wear, but that's unlikely to happen as the PVD is on top, whereas a clasp would show that wear.
Maybe i'll let my friend wear it who is left handed and insists on wearing watches on his left hand... The wear he can create in a month is legendary.

Re: SDR bezels with wabi?
I don’t think the SDR bezels patina in any way. There is a worn-wabi Sinn thread at WUS and I’m pretty certain all the SDR bezels I’ve seen have looked great.
I’ll let you know in 10 years what my U50P bezel looks like.
