I always spit when I chewed and, even that played hell with my upper GI. Ended up with esophageal cancer and, had to have it removed about 10 years ago.

Yes, but I spit. There were only a couple occasions when I swallowed and that usually involved a suspicious flight attendant.
My Dad swallowed. He quit ten days after me when I told him I was done and I think he's still on the wagon. He'd been dipping Copenhagen since 1972 with no problems (yet). Maybe it's a stature thing to swallow dip spit? He's 6ft 6" tattooed and about 380lbs. A monster.
Anyway... watch arrived. Glad I got the U1 back instead of trying the U50 for my 7.5" wrists.

Congrats on both. I have a 7.5” wrist too and keep thinking about a U1 but the U50 has me intrigued too.

I'd give the U1 a try first unless you're a devout Nato guy. There's new U1 deals available, especially as new U50 owners sell their U1s... The U1 deals will trickle in as U50 ship. If the U1 doesn't work out then you'll be in a time frame when U50s might be on the chopping block. You may be able to trade one back to a previous owner!
I enjoy the occasional Nato, and remember how this watch wore from a decade ago, but I was still discovering myself in big dive watches then, so ultimately sold it. Plus I always craved a substantial wearing and weighty watch which is comfortable... For years I was always wanting either the U1 or another MM300 back, but the U1 won this time.

I've read and heard from friends who own one that it wears best on the rubber strap, and I think it looks great on that too, so if I go that route, that's what I'd probably do.

Kobold is comfortable, but tough dealing with their spotty CS on orders.

No, I gave up after waiting a few months or so and got a refund.

Well, that didn't go well either.
I tried dealing with Kobold "CS" for a month and a half to get the PP refund; without success.
Had to file a claim with PP to get the refund.

Imagine actually ordering a watch from them?
