Sinn U1 Love and hate, and love again.......

Post by flyskate » Wed Jul 21, 2021 6:27 pm

So, I recently bought a U1 for the 3rd time, seems like I can't stay away! I quickly realized why I sold the last 2, I've always had the Sinn on the bracelet, and honestly, by the end of the day it was way too heavy. I never really cared for a rubber strap, although I bought one for it. Then a couple of days ago, I picked up a Drunkartstrap black canvas, from mellonb1 here. Gotta tell you, I love this watch on this strap. Amazingly comfortable now, and I think it looks killer on this strap. I finally have a U1 that's going to be a keeper in the collection! Very pleased!

Congrats on finding the right combo; I haven’t had my U1 on the bracelet since it arrived.

Since they discontinued the T1 and T2 they really should make a titanium U1.

Leather and canvas work really well on that watch. I can't remember the last time mine was on the bracelet.

That looks great! I love the bracelet on my PO, but with the canvas it is way more comfortable (I also sold my U1 due to the weight).

Agree, Ti U1 would be killer.

You just aren’t a watch guy until A: you’ve bought and sold more than 3 U1s, and B: you convert to canvas, for at least a little while.

I’ve “rented” at least four of them but my dive watches get wet too often - so rubber or bracelet for me, but congrats!!

Absolutely love the aesthetic of the U1 and (no joke) currently on my 12th, courtesy of Paul. It's just too damn big and heavy for me and my 6.75" wrist. Picked up a U50 a few weeks back and while it took a while to adjust to the smaller size it's perfect.

I wanted to go that route, but with the demand still very high for the U50, I decided to try the U1 again..

Same. I’ve owned 2-3 U1’s and picked up a U50 last year and it is my most worn watch by far. If I had to go down to just 1 watch, it would be the U50.
