Really want to try a U50

Post by deepcdvr » Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:04 pm

I’ve had at least 4 U1’s and they always get flipped because they are too heavy… love the watch tho!

I’ve read a couple of you guys’ reviews on the U50 and they always sound positive, but any negative points?

I have a 7” flat wrist. Thanks dudes.

I was in the same boat! I just sold the 3rd U1 I had because of that, it was too heavy and really at the limit in terms of size for my wrist, which
is 7 in also. I bought the U50 and it came in yesterday, I've been wearing it since I sized it. It is a joy to wear! Even on the bracelet is feels light
and comfortable, I also sleep wearing my watch, and it was great last night. Fits better on my wrist, and with a thickness of 11.1 mm you don't
even notice it's on.

I'm really happy I decided to "swap out the U1" for this. I say go for it!

Lume is good. It's not Seiko bright, but it lasts through the night.

Do it, U50 is the perfect every day wearer. I was another that owned 3 U1's, loved the design but always found them too heavy. U50 is the Goldilocks size. As a bonus, it has a better movement than the U1. SW300 vs SW200.

I was considering this the other week.

Decided to stand pat with the U1, but always wear it on a strap.

Happy hunting, Paul.

I can’t say enough good things about the U50. I’m going to post a mini review soon.
Great size and weight.
I saw my brother the other day. The only watch he’s had in the past 10 years is a submariner and a U1 he sold. When I showed him the U50 he picked it up and asked me if it was titanium.
It’s certainly not Ti light- but when you’re used to a U1 and you see a U50 in the flesh it’s hard to believe it’s not 5lb.

Really want to try a U50

Some photos on my 7.75” wrist and a comparison shot with something you know well, the Ares D1. It wears between a 5-digit Sub and 5-digit Sea-Dweller.

Now, they need to make a U-50 Pro and take my money!

Dang. I had a D1 and it was smallish on me so I know the U-50 probably won’t work either. I need to find one locally and try it on.

Thanks Hop!

That looks awesome and my wrist is smaller at about 7-7.25, so I think it will be perfect

Wearing one of my Ares now

When I saw your comparison pic, I decided the U50 wouldn't work for me.

I have a Raven Trekker on today and decided to compare the two.

Guess I was wrong.

How is the lume on the U50? If I remember correctly I wasn’t too impressed with the lume on my U1
