Omega’s Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold

Post by AtomicTom » Fri Jan 07, 2022 6:29 pm

Guys, have you had time to see Omega's Speedmaster Calibre
321 Canopus Gold?

This new watch has details like a 38.6mm white gold case, 60m
WR, sapphire crystal, black onyx step dial with white gold hour
markers, as well as Broad-Arrow hands, nice bracelet, along with
the Omega Calibre 321 beneath it all.

Just a few pictures...

I hadn’t seen that before and I love the looks. However, the movement decoration is pretty poor for a watch that costs CHF 75,000. They would have done better not showing it.

Nostalgia is a powerful drug. Even the SS 321 speedy is priced at $14,000.

Rolex isn't the paragon of reasonable prices, but their white gold Daytona has an MSRP of $45,000, and it has an outstanding modern movement.

$81,000?!?!?

Nice watch, but I’m definitely not the market for something like this.

I’d pick the daytona if I were spending my own money, but I think this Speedmaster might be better looking.

A 38mm Speedy isn’t my thing, especially in PM. But if the 41mm trend extends to the white gold meteorite Daytona, sign me up. :koolaid:

Yeah…no. This is a halo piece, but most watches now are much, much too expensive.

I agree. Much more legible, too. And I can get a garden variety SS version for half the cost of a SS Daytona (and that’s at retail). Plus, unlike the 321 version, the 3861 is coaxial. Or if I really want to save I can get a pre-owned 1861.

What't the point of a display back if you can't see the gubbins inside? The view is blocked by the donkey etched into the glass.
