Neat video. I was not aware of this particular historical Omega model. Interesting engineering . It seems there are a few claiming “first dive watch ever” these days, though.

Yes ago I new a marketing guy who swore American men responded best to a female voice with a British accent. He only hired female British voice-over people for all his marketing videos.

Every time I watch something like this with a female Brit voice-over it reminds me of him.

When you think about it, what does a British person have to do with Omega anyway? Omega's factory is in Bienne, so they really should have a female with a German (or maybe French) accent doing the voice over.

Sorry, guys but the guy in the bathysphere was at one atmosphere of pressure inside of it. So the Omega watch that he was wearing was at no more pressure than walking in the park on a Sunday afternoon. That whole little drama was meaningless in terms of water leakage or a pressure rating of that watch. I also seriously doubt if the Diver in heavy gear was wearing that watch, not that he needed it for anything. The platform that he used to ascend and descend was controlled from the surface by a crane operator and a diving Supervisor with a watch of his own and using a pneumofathometer tied to the Divers umbilical to tell his depth.
