Forstner v Uncle S. .?? (Update)

Post by snootydog » Mon Sep 23, 2024 2:12 am

So I'm getting fed up waiting for Forstner UK to get their Bullet bracelet back in stock for my Speedmaster. Last update I had from them was hopefully in stock at the very end of October. The Uncle version looks pretty good and is £60 ($80)cheaper with their push button clasp option. The question is, are Forstner that much better that I should wait weeks and spend an extra £60?
I've read all the reviews elsewhere but I'd rather hear the thoughts of you guys please.

I believe so. US bracelets are okay but still cheap feeling. That is not the case with Fostner.

There are several Forstner bracelets on sale on WUS, one was also for a Speedmaster, sold now.

I guess it could be an option. No personal experience with these myself.

Would be a good option Carlo, if there was one for sale in the UK  .
I think Forstner USA still has the cal 1836 version but UK customs always get me these days so a customs charge on top of £170 doesn't appeal to me  I guess Forstner is having trouble getting resupplied from China. It's not the first time there has been a very long wait for them to get stock back in.

I did not realize you had custom fees to pay.

After a very long wait, Forstner finally got the Bullet bracelet back in stock. They didn't get as many as they ordered, infact only 5 arrived in the UK so I had to be quick placing my order. Luckily Forstner UK gave the heads up as to exactly when they would be listing them as available. It arrived today and just like the two Forstner bracelets I got for my BB58 this one for my Speedmaster looks great. Glad I took the advice from you guys and went Forstner rather than Uncle Seiko
