I've been reading reports on wus gshock, 2 out of the 7 Macy's in NYC have already sold out.
Strange some are supposedly being released, and Casio hasn't even released on their own site?
Very weird rollout, if it is at all true. A few D&R's are in the wild.
Its a luck of the draw at this point out there.
I don't even think they are releasing in Canada, or at least in my city that I'm aware of.

Even though I prefer the matte-finish plastic that it's sporting, unlike glossy plastic, these get dirty fast, and no, you can't clean them. Kinda annoying.

Well, Herald Square is the only Macy's in Manhattan, and our Brooklyn store jumped the gun and sold out already. I 'spose I could look for one in CT this weekend, but given that I work in the HSQ store and know the folks behind the G-Shock counter, this is my best bet.

Guys, I just got the 411...

We are officially sold out, even though not a single one was set out on the floor. You can thank the insane popularity and consumer-awareness of this piece, along with shoppers who somehow were able to get reserve orders in (it's my understanding that there are "regular" G-Shock customers who get preference, as well as those with personal-shopper accounts at Macy's). You wanna know how crazy it's been downstairs? The manager played me a message left by a woman who was so desperate to get one that she was crying on the phone. Seriously.

As for me, I was lucky enough to score one, which I'll pick up tomorrow, but that's only because I've been going downstairs and bugging the folks behind the counter about this watch for the past six months. Sure, it doesn't hurt that I work in the building, but notice that I'm only getting one this time around, not eight like I did with the first Dee & Ricky. Lame.

So, if you want one, it's time to start hitting up Macy's in other locales. I'm going to try and slide by a Macy's in CT near my house this weekend and if they have any. If they do, I'll try to grab a couple for those of you who don't have the good fortune of working in the largest store in America. We'll see.

This is the one time living in the 'burbs or anywhere other than the island of Manhattan is an advantage trying to get this piece of plastic. I'm seeing all of these posts of people that are simply walking into their closest Casio G-Shock dealer and picking up multiple Dee & Ricky 2s. No hassle, no fuss.

In NYC, we're like scavengers looking for even one! Well, my perseverance and good fortune paid off. I was able to get one at Macy's Herald Square. As Adam as my witness, since I called him away from his cubicle when I got to Macy's, it was some super-duper production and process. The D&R is not even at the G-Shock counter since they are not even displaying the watches nor do they want other bypassers to see someone picking one up.

I had to go to another section of the store and then had to meet a manager before passing muster. The manager had to get the piece from a locked storeroom and came out with it cradled in her arms so no one would no what it is! Totally BANANAS!!!

Seriously, she came out cradling that thing like baby Jesus, and the look in her eyes was one of pure fear. I've never seen anything quite like this, and yet, as Luke pointed out, for those in the sticks, they just walk in, slap down a card and help themselves to the store's entire stock. Obviously, Herald Square is going to be ground zero in the search for the latest G-Shocks (we did get more than any single other location, Macy's or otherwise), but the amount of calls and folks coming in to ask about this watch has been unprecedented.

Hell, Luke looked like Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory after he found the Golden Ticket. I admonished him to run straight home and talk to no one.

I swear, someone is going to get shot over this one.
