I prefer Roku and the Roku Stick would be the smallest to travel with, but it has lower processing speeds and a smaller antenna than the Roku 2 or 3. However, it is the size of a usb thumb drive and you can plug it into an open usb port on a tv to power it.
If you are staying in a hotel, I would suggest the Amazon Fire stick. It supports "captive portal" wifi access, i.e., you would not have to sign in every time you wanted to watch something with it.

Thanks, Ed. Looks like there are plenty of good options, many better than Chromecast.
Re: Getting easier to cut the cord...
Actually, Roku has just released an update with captive portal wifi access. I would go with the stick over the 1, but thats me.
Re: Getting easier to cut the cord...
Get the 2. The whole setup will fit in a small pouch.

Make sure to get the newer version of the 2 with the same upgraded processor as the 3.

I have an Apple TV in the living room and an Amazon Fire stick I got at best buy for 25 bucks the week it came out. Love them both. I'm considering a roku. I wonder how the roku stick compares to the regular roku.
