I was searching for my grandpa 70's lighter for years! I can hardly recall what that was till a friend show his. It was IMCO Austrian made lighter which is world oldest liquid fueled lighter.

I still have the Zippo I bought in high school (and I agree, they are high maintenance due to fuel evaporation). The totally choice jean jacket whose chest pocket it rode in is long gone, but the Zippo remains.
I like my lighters to be like my diesels- multi fuel capable.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

When i was young i smell the diesel fuel from IMCO lighter. I haven't tried one so i cannot vouch it will work.
