IMCO lighter

Post by kempoman » Sun Nov 14, 2021 5:16 pm

I was searching for my grandpa 70's lighter for years! I can hardly recall what that was till a friend show his. It was IMCO Austrian made lighter which is world oldest liquid fueled lighter.

It is inexpensive to own a piece of history and handy for survival tools list.

Now I want one!

I still have the Zippo I bought in high school (and I agree, they are high maintenance due to fuel evaporation). The totally choice jean jacket whose chest pocket it rode in is long gone, but the Zippo remains.

I like my lighters to be like my diesels- multi fuel capable.

Funny you mention that. I learned in the Navy that a Zippo will run on diesel fuel.

When i was young i smell the diesel fuel from IMCO lighter. I haven't tried one so i cannot vouch it will work.
