Breitling advice

Post by Wario406 » Thu Apr 13, 2023 3:39 pm

I’m looking to grab a Breitling Navitimer with a blue face on a bracelet sometime soon. I see they come in 41 and 43.

Any advice? I’m leaning towards the 41, but open to all suggestions.

Thanks!

This is the one you want. A true Navitimer before Breitling ruined the line. Model AB0120, 43mm.

Go “vintage”. 2010-ish or so.

I don’t know anything about Navitimers but I’ve owned (rented would be a more accurate term) many models. All of them were divers so take that into consideration, but the 43’s all wore large/heavy. The 41’s - old school superocean, for example, wore fantastic.

I have a 7.25 inch wrist.

Good luck!

I tried a Sinn and it was very thick, it ruined the watch for me.
I never owned a navitimer but saw many in the wild and (maybe because they’re larger?) they looked thinner.

The Sinn is probably a more accurate Navitimer than anything Breitling sells these days.

I'd go for the Ref. 806 1959 Re-edition, if you can get your hands on one. Pretty much an exact copy of the original 1959 model.

The new Navitimers are pretty hot, but yeah you could buy 3 Sinn Navitimers for the price... of course the Sinn's are a lot thicker though.

Loved my old Navi - wore like a dream and was super versatile. Bracelet was extremely comfortable but blingy but did look great on just about anything I put on it

Or, as an alternative is the Breitling Spatiogrpahie…. Think of it as a Navitimer with a “digital” minute counter.
Beautiful dial and a complication you want soon see again

Awesome input, thanks!

I want the Breitling Navi because it’s a watch I’ve always wanted. And, I want the blue face.

I really like the panda A35350 and but the A13324 is pretty sharp too.

I just picked this one up a couple of days ago and absolutely love it. 41mm and I have a pretty large wrist.

That is an awesome watch! Love the digital display minute counter. Really cool complication, is that found on any other chronographs? I did a quick Google search and the only other example I could find was the Breitling Co-Pilot from the ‘50s with a 15 minute counter at 3 o’clock that at first glance looks like a date window.

that's a good question and I really don't know the answer....it's such a hyper focused complication that I don't imagine too many variants are out there but then again, I have no idea.

now I kinda want to look into these some more, lol
