New model and new brand!!!
Hi Guys,
I promised you something new in the new year so here it is
We are launching a sister company to run parallel with SAS. It is called Mileata (military in Irish) and these watches are built solely with military and law enforcement in mind, they are tough and durable and with Mileata you will get the same high level of craftsmanship and customer service that you have come to expect from SAS. We didn't want to bring out a military watch under the name SAS and wanted to keep it separate so this is why we have launched it with a new name. SAS Watch Co will remain unchanged, and both brands will run side by side.
This new model is available in two colours Black and Green, and we have plans for more colours as we progress. The green model or M2 as we are calling it is a dark olive colour and has a matching green NATO strap and the black M1 model has a black and grey dial with a black NATO. We have gone all out to remove any bling from this watch, we have even PVD'd the metal hour markers on the dial. The NATOs have matching PVD hardware.
The case is a more conventional shape than the SAS and is rated to 500 meters, it is sandblasted and PVD'd and has fixed lug bars. There is a thick double domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal and anti-magnetic protection up to 80,000 A/M. We have moved away from Switzerland to Japan for the movement, and we are using the Miyota 9015. This is an exceptional movement for the price and I have been testing one out for the last few months and I can say that I cannot fault it, it is robust and accurate, a perfect combination.
As I mentioned above it has fixed lug bars so can only be worn with NATO type straps, so no flimsy spring bars to worry about or no screws to loose, this watch is all about toughness.
We haven't cut one corner with the watch, it is top of it's class, but in an effort to bring the price as low as possible we have stripped back all the extras, these is no presentation box, the watch comes in a foam case that doubles up as a glasses case, there is no fancy warranty card, no screwdrivers, no leather or rubber straps, no metal bracelet, no cleaning cloths, no stickers. All our focus has gone into the watch. The price is set in Euros but works out to approx USD$590 for you guys (this price includes shipping )
We will have them in stock in about a week, and you can see all the details and pricing for your region on the website http://www.mileata.com

WoW that looks great and slaps all those other wannabe military style watches in the face. Honestly I would buy this before a Resco, Kobold and WCT.
Here are the specs if anyone is wondering:

Case width 42mm
Case height 13mm
Strap width 22mm
Scratch resistant sapphire crystal
Automatic movement
Water rating 500 meters
Fixed lug bars

Shock protection
Tough pvd coating
Strong one piece nylon straps
Screw-down crown

I think I love you Graeme.
The ONLY thing I would have liked to see different is a white on black date wheel.
Superb new piece sir.

I hate black date wheels, they look great but i just can't see the date. I think a roulette date wheel would rock also.

Re: New model and new brand!!!
I did consider that but I went for the white dial because it is easier to read and I thought it looked better because it echoed the hour markers.hoppyjr wrote:I think I love you Graeme.

Graham,
What is the L2L on these? Also, on your site it looks like you have some different colored chapter rings...more options in the works?

I'll have to agree in this case the white date wheel works better.Graeme wrote:I did consider that but I went for the white dial because it is easier to read and I thought it looked better because it echoed the hour markers.hoppyjr wrote:I think I love you Graeme.

I would like a semi -demilitarized one with the 1-15 on the bezel numbers painted white also. There is so much to like about this watch that is for sure.

A no nonsense, tough watch. It looks like you accomplished your objective with this watch.

agreed...no strap options on this other than nato will limit optionsandrema wrote:I get the fixed bars, but wish it had hex bars.
I'd actually prefer drilled lugs with Rolex style fat lug bars or some shoulder less bars
