Any Yema Superman experts here ???
A yema superman was offered to me... it has the same bezel than the one shown at this site... found some others on the net with that kind of bezel. Perhaps an early version The more popular one is the arylic version.
But is that one also a genuine bezel for a superman? Thanks!

I'm certainly no expert on the Yema Superman, but I have seen quite a few. I believe that the bezel insert that is shown in the pic that you provided is correct for a LeJour branded Superman, not a Yema. Since I gather that the watch in your link is not the actual watch that you're considering, it is hard to tell 100%. However, I'm always learning and seeing something new with vintage divers, so who knows? BTW, if you are considering the watch in the link, I'm sure that you are aware that the dial is almost certainly a re-dial, and that the hands have been relumed. Just FYI.
Not my pics.

Re: Any Yema Superman experts here ???
Hi Steve,
thank you for your post. I also found these Le Jour Supermans with that bezel. And on a french watch forum I also found some very early Yema Supermans which have the look of the Le Jour with that bezel. The watch in the link came after the one with that bezel. So perhaps first batch was fitted with bezels from the last production, because on this french forum I found some more watches with a bezel like in the link. But who knows...

When it comes to vintage, anything is possible. It may be that early Yema Supermans were originally fitted with the bezel insert in question. In those days, there was a lot of "cross-branding", where different companies with similar models used the same parts. Since both Yema and LeJour are French brands, the odds are good that's the case with your watch.
In any case, if it were me, I'd probably pull the trigger. Sometimes you can't get a watch out of your head, and you just have to buy it!

Here's one on eGay that you might compare to...

Hi.
Your superman is legit. It's the first version bezel. The bakelite appeared on later reference 24.11.17.
The watch in the link is not redialed. The lining finish of the dial is impossible to reproduce. There are some redials around, more pure withe than the original greyish.
I paid 200 last week for the quartz model. The seller from Cyprus is out of his mind.

If so, I stand corrected. You're right, the linen texture would be very difficult to reproduce.mil_watch wrote:The watch in the link is not redialed. The lining finish of the dial is impossible to reproduce. There are some redials around, more pure withe

thank you for your help. Perhaps you can give me some more information on my watch... on the net there are not so many watches in this version. Also found your Lausco which should be quite the same. So my bezel version was before the one with the acrylic one, right?
So.. here are some pics of the actual watch. Everything's fine with it?

Yes, it's the first version of the bezel, maybe 1965, the acrylic probably appeared in 68/70.

I’m just wondering if this Yema Superman has a repainted dial ?
