Porsche or Orfina with the 7750 is very sought instead of the one with the 5100.
Both cool watches, but with the 7750 is rarer.

may be rarer, but the military-issued versions used only L5100passionesub wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 7:19 amPorsche or Orfina with the 7750 is very sought instead of the one with the 5100.

Why would anyone want a 7750 over A 5100? The 5100 is the ultimate chrono movement.

The 7750 is more reliable in my experience. It's easier to service. Parts aren't getting scarce. It also has an ugly dial layout and is too thick, so neither seems clearly more desirable.

In my experience the 5100 is just as reliable. And it’s the best way to ever use a chrono.
Thickness? That’s all on the watch maker. It’s about the same as the 7750.
Parts for it do suck. That is the only downfall.

The issue doesn't seem to be just parts availability. I had a well known vintage watch repairer tell me that he will not work on the 5100 because it's a PITA and not worth it to him.

My guy says the same thing. Most owners do not want pay the real cost/time it takes to service one.

I do not know if I would send anything to rgm personally.
It still doesn't change the cost issue.
