Alsta / Wakmann / Villard Nautoscaph Superautomatic 999 Feet

Okay, so yesterday I bought one of these, with the Villard name on it.

It came from the local on-line classifieds; the on-line photos were poor, but it shows up nicely in person, so I bought it.

In the short time I've had it, it's been wildly fast, but I know a trip to the mechanic will sort that out.

I've found very little about Villard, but Wakmann and Alsta seem more prevalent. It seems a version of the watch was worn by Richard Dreyfuss in Jaws. Worn and Wound assume it's the Alsta, but from the photos I've seen it could be anything.

My watch is the tonneau shape, all-steel case, no-insert steel bezel, and date-only, with what appears to be the original unsigned screw-down crown.

My question is: does anyone know anything about the Villard brand? I am most curious . . .

Any in-sight would be appreciated, and I'm sorry but I have no photo hosting capabilities.
