All Original Vintage Citizen Diver

Post by Steve O. » Fri Mar 12, 2021 2:42 pm

I'm a big fan of vintage Citizen divers. I've owned several of these "paddle hand" models, both auto and quartz. Never one as nice as this one, if I do say so. It was produced in October 1978, and is near mint condition. What makes it even better is that it retains its rare original tire tread strap, which is in excellent condition. I've looked high and low for these straps in the past, and they just don't come around. I probably paid a little too much, but I just couldn't pass it up. Thanks for looking.

Love it. They had some fun stuff back in the day.

Very interesting. Domed crystal, hidden lugs. Quite nice!

All kinds of good going on there.

Paddle hands seem to be making a sort of comeback of late, and I like the trend; sword hands (non-Omega, mind you) are getting old.

Very cool strap as well! Careful, though, I just had an old Marathon strap - which looked great - literally fall apart in my hand when putting it on - scary.

Congrats!!

Thanks. I've had that happen before. I plan on replacing the original with a different strap before wearing it.

Nice watch. Use to own a similar one with paddle hands but a automatic first dive I ever bought when in the Navy but I beat the hell out of it and ended up getting a Seiko quartz diver that never let me down. I gave that Citizen diver free to a member here who got it running again hope he still has it.

Thanks Mike. Pretty cool that you still have the 7548.
