I am a sucker for any US Navy clocks of any kind. Saw this on the bay don't see these for sale often. You always see those issued Marathon quartz clocks more often and they want a arm and a leg for them so always pass on them. Saw this for a great price even had make offer so I made a offer and got it for a better price. Was thinking I would get a counteroffer that's what normally happens. Like it when you can find something military timepiece related for under 200 bucks. Did not know Waltham made these was cool to find it. Looks like it has a nob for the hinds a switch maybe for hacking? I guess a issued Navy quartz chronometer from the time when I was in the US Navy. Sellers's photos.

A member on MWR has one he put a battery in it 5 years ago still running on that battery must be well built.

I didn't realize Waltham was still in business in '91.
That's a nice, clean dial.

Here is an early Waltham chronometer from WW1 issued to the US Navy a long line of making chronometers for the US Navy. almost 100 years apart.
Re: Cir. 1991 US Navy government Waltham quartz chronometer clock
Well, received it today. Happy with the buy about the best price on something military timepiece related in a very long time. Next to the Hamilton model 21 chronometer that it took over for maybe one of the last chronometers for the US Navy before GPS took over. Depending on GPS without teaching the old fashion ways with chronometer and sextant and the stars a mistake if I was the Russians or Chinese takeout our GPS satellites you take out our navigation and any weapons that use GPS.
