Have not posted anything new in a while

Post by River Rat » Tue Aug 30, 2022 10:00 am

I guess you can call this watch related. Just got this Bund navigation kit that was used with the Heuer Bund for navigation this was once a working watch not a show piece for the wrist. It was once used for what it was intended but now retired in my collection. But this kit kind of shows how it was used before GPS. Saw this for sale at the MWR forum for a fair price most watches now adays are out of my price range but this was not.

Mike, that is amazing, I love these adjacent items, I think they add to the owner experience

Dam the seller had two of them for sell at the MWR PX took forever to sell one of them I kept looking at the other one the price was right he gave me a deal since he had it listed a while. Really don’t know why someone did not buy it in a flash these are more rare than the watch. Figured it’s cool to have. Plus when I get to old and need to sell stuff off being a set watch and navigation kit I will get more and it will sell faster just a rare set. Might get a military issued chart (map) used in the Cold War to complete the set. The same seller sold me my Heuer Bund many years ago.

Very cool set - certainly a big step up from a Lensatic compass! I always used a Silva Ranger on the go, but that gear would be much more accurate for those 8-digit coordinates...
