I found just one photo of my old Waltham...the movement and rear cover.ezcheese wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 5:19 amVery cool. I briefly lived in Waltham and saw the original Waltham factory down by the river and I have always thought that that brand should be revived with a USA-based operation from soup to nuts. Looks like (according to wikipedia) that an "Italian-American" dude owns the brand now and they're making retro versions of a field watch with Sellita or Soprod options. https://watchangels.ch/en/watches/waltham-field-marine/pacifichrono wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 9:44 pmI once bought a sterling silver Waltham that had a 1918 movement (my dad's birth year) and a 1921 case (my mom's birth year). I sold it about five years later.Bob1035 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 8:44 amMy 6309 has a 79 case, but a 81 movement, so that counts in my eyes. I'd be fine with an 5513, not interested in the stratospheric pricing though.
I kinda do this with cars too, "What 1981 car would I want?". Options aren't awesome, so the clear choice is always a 911SC

One word...idiot. Bought this a few years ago and then traded it. Can't even remember what for.
First month/year (April 1965) 6217-8000 62MAS small crown. Excellent condition except faded or polished case back.

Re: Birth Year Models?
I picked up a 1983 Sea-Dweller. In the past, birth-year models haven't really stuck though, so I'm not sure if I want to commit to it.
Should be an easy sell though, as I'd expect a lot of other folks hitting the 40-mark might be looking for something to mark the occasion.

This is as close as I have come. It’s from 1972, so it’s a year older than I am.
