I'm interested in anything known about this particular watch model. It is a "Cardinal", "Super waterproof" might be the model name or just an aspiration (The crown doesn't screw down so , yeah 200metres, dream on), I don't recognise the movement, which says MP on it. I could count 6 visible jewels so it's 21 jewel claim is probably reasonable.

The internet states it is a Canadian watch brand founded by Russian emigres and that (Some) watches were assembled in the USSR. A few Canadian jewellers sites I've seen have breathless text about how marvelous Cardinals are, but never any stock, so I'm thinking it's now a dormant brand.
Age wise, I know this is from at least the late 60's because I saw the Stuart Sullivan character in "Department S" wearing one and I stopped my YouTube to see what brand it was and I had a "Have to have it" moment.

Oh yeah the screw back is a generic one with the folksy sketch of a scuba diver and a fish watching each other.
