You said the same thing about the Dylan Mulvaney mankini, but you wear that all the time.Chocodove wrote:I dig the Astron. I'd never wear it, but I like the idea of it.

Wouldn’t be seiko without an LE option…
Re: New Seiko Thread
At least it’s nothing weird or outrageously priced compared to the standard versions (which are already kind of outrageously priced).Ruggs wrote:Wouldn’t be seiko without an LE option…

Re: New Seiko Thread
Yeah, seeing that these are Titanium with the hardened coating may put them over the edge for me. Not sure how much I would wear, but makes for a very attractive package. Movement features are super cool. Will automatically adjust the hour hand once you change timezones but you can put it in airplane mode via the pushers to prevent this. Also a perpetual calendar.
Even has a pushbutton adjustable clasp which even GS won't give us.

Where did you find the clasp info?dnslater wrote:Yeah, seeing that these are Titanium with the hardened coating may put them over the edge for me. Is it possible to order these now?

Apparently the Astron line has been quietly featuring these clasps on their watches while Seiko and Grand Seiko ignore them on other watches.
Phots of the clasp on a different Astron watch.

Such an easy to implement design. All watches should have that.dnslater wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 7:47 amhttps://www.fratellowatches.com/seiko-w ... j017/#gref

This is how the clasp on the SNR series of watches have worked since that was introduced. Such an underrated offering (titanium, spring drive, GMT, adjustable clasp): https://www.seikowatches.com/us-en/prod ... x/snr033j1dnslater wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 7:47 amhttps://www.fratellowatches.com/seiko-w ... j017/#gref

Re: New Seiko Thread
Seiko is terrible about highlighting features. They have a million different models and some models have some features, yet vastly more expensive watches lack those features. If Seiko just took every feature offered on a cheaper model and moved it up their product line, every single watch would improve.matt.wu wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 10:52 amThis is how the clasp on the SNR series of watches have worked since that was introduced. Worse that they have the product designed and implemented in house, but fail to utilize it.JP Chestnut wrote:That's exactly the right way to describe it. It's like GS doesn't even know that these weird random watches have a feature that GS sorely lacks relative to Rolex and other similar alternatives.
In fairness, Rolex should use the EZ-link on everything outside the sports line, then use the Glidelock on all sports watches.
But hey, I’m not in charge of anything.

I agree RE the easy link. What don’t the use it on, besides the OP?hoppyjr wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 1:08 pmWorse that they have the product designed and implemented in house, but fail to utilize it.JP Chestnut wrote:That's exactly the right way to describe it. Just arrived.
Definitely will wear smaller than dimensions; more like 41/40mm.
That's a good thing; I've been looking to move to smaller cases (without dipping below 40mm).
I still have to get plastic off and wear it around a bit before sharing impressions, but initially feel very good about this.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
