Nice looking but the date window throws it off. How do they come up with these ridiculous prices?

Tiny, terribly ugly strap, adjusted to -10/+15 seconds/day, and almost $3K? What's not to like?

This one is crazy expensive, but the modern reinterpretations they’re releasing at the same time look pretty good and are reasonably priced.

To each his own, but that type of strap is corny as hell.

Nice watch, but $2900 will by you a "Willard" in green and black with money to spare.

Any Seiko movement with a 6 in front of it is a Turd.

I wear my Rolex but protest it every day. I hate myself.

So, the LE is 36.6mm with 100M vs non LE 39mm with 200M WR. Anytime, Tudor Ranger is a better buy.

I'm really not loving Seiko's decisions and direction these days.

I rarely say a watch is too small, but in this case I think it is. Plus that date really screws up the dial. And it's overpriced for what it is. All in all this will be a hard pass for me.

I actually kind of like it. 36.6mm with the round dial and thin bezel should wear okay. I'd take the bund part off of the strap to wear it. I agree the date could be better placed, but I always prefer a date so I'd live with it.

But not for $3,000.

Here's a link to a review of the modern re-issues. I think they're kind of cool.

https://monochrome-watches.com/seiko-pr ... iew-price/

Maybe a bit too thick given the 38mm diameter, but they look good to me, particularly in the cream dial. And they left out the compass bezel, which I have a hard time warming up to.

I still think the black alpinist on bracelet is the best explorer alternative going. I was pleasantly surprised when I owned it… except for the 6R movement.

SPB243 or something else? I don't see any other black versions on a bracelet OEM, although the 159 would be my preference size wise...
