SPDC109 regulation

Post by K9Paul » Tue Nov 09, 2021 8:12 am

I am looking for a recommendation for regulating my SPDC109. I purchased it on the secondary market. I love the design and look but it has been consistently loosing approx 20 seconds per 24 hours. I understand that is barely out of spec but I’d like that improved and biased to gaining time. Thanks for your help in advance!!!

Hey Paul. Welcome to DWC.

There are many good watchmakers around, so depending on where you live it should be an easy thing to have done.

Our own Toxicavenger (Terry) can probably hook you up, so send him a PM.

If you plan to stick around, consider doing a post in the Main Forum to introduce yourself. Include semi-nude photos of your significant other for a chance to advance to the bonus round.

SPDC109 regulation

Post by BBK357 » Tue Nov 09, 2021 8:42 pm

I have two seiko with the 6R35 movement.

My SPB153 green Willard runs almost perfect at +3 sec/day.

My SPB147 brown 62MAS was running great at about +2 sec/day but currently slowed down to -6sec/day.

Very unpredictable.

If you still have your seiko warranty card and it’s filled out I would just send it to seiko warranty repair center so they can sort it out.

I haven't had any experience with the 6R35, but I have heard it's similar to the older 6R15. All I've owned have been sporadic except for two. My current SARB033 and the first Sumo I ever owned. Everything else in between (at least 8) were inconsistent. If it's consistent there it may regulate well. I did regulate my current SARB and it's been excellent.
