I’ll have to get one of these to do a Turdle GMT mod.
That's what I was thinking. :salute: Can you drop a 4R34 into a Turdle case? Are the dimensions identical to the 4R36?
I’d assume so. It shouldn’t be any thicker. They didn’t add a complication, as they removed the day display.
I think that makes sense, anyway.

They are starting to sell the nh34 gmt movements.

They say same size as the nh35 if I read correctly.

Crafter blue has them for $65.

I am going to mod a turtle.

I wonder if the GMT hand will be easy to source.

I’d assume any 3:00 date-only dial will work just fine. I’d look for a Sumo dial. I’ll have to dig through the box to see what I have.

I loaded up on OEM dials and hands whenever I found a good deal. I have some nice stuff I haven’t used yet.

I ordered a couple of movements to have. Figure it’s only a matter of time for dials and hands.

Good info, especially knowing that the dial hole needs to be bigger. I hadn’t thought of that.

I really don’t understand why enlarging the dial hole on a standard dial should be any issue.

5kx GMT models

Post by Jeep99dad » Thu Jul 28, 2022 7:28 am

Mkne lands today at home so I’ll have it this weekend when we’re back from FL. I got the orange from Mimo and may want to try the blue too, keep one. Glad seiko made these gmt. Small brands already using it or designing new affordable GMTs

If anyone interested, Mimo offers a Small discount (10%) with code SPORT on these new GMT

Code MW25 on some other models in stock

Mine landed from Mimo in California
I like it a lot and want to order the blue as well to compare, then keep one. But I’m digging this orange. I’ve not tried the bracelet yet, need to size it at some point.

Here are pics in different light (house, car, outside) and angles so you can get a feel of it is on the wrist though it’s a popular case design Image

I do like the orange the best, but wish it had been flat orange instead of sunburst.

Does the 5KX GMT scale rehaut come off the dial easily?

I think a Turtle mod with the GMT movement/ rehaut (assuming the dial opening is the same size so the rehaut fits) and a date-only dial would be SWEET. Pretty much the perfect vacation travel watch IMO.

Alternatively, an SKX007 case with the 5KX dial, movement, and hand set would be equally perfect. I just don’t know if the GMT movement would fit into the SKX007 case.
