New to me: 6306!

Post by sierra11b » Sat Jan 28, 2023 4:52 pm

I literally picked-up this 6306 in the Costco parking lot via Facebook marketplace two hours ago!

He brought so many other goodies (unbeknownst to me) and I didn't bring enough extra cash!

A handful of 6309s, all seemed original, but some were better than others. Most had significant paint damage but seemed fully operational. I texted him saying i wanted one of the five he brought, and will snag it next weekend, primarily for parts.

He had another '84 or '85 (IIRC) non-suwa i could probably get if anyone is interested which looked pretty good. I can PM him.

Thanks! crown and stem are butter with plenty of thread catch. There's a bit of jumpy roughness at 7 o'clock with the bezel, but i reckon i can tackle that with a service another day. It fully rotates and is a non-issue.

Whoa, amazing Eric ! :o Yeah, a SUPER Seiko congratulations here to you !!!

I can't even imagine running into such fortune like this. You must be on cloud 9 ! :excited:
because honestly a lot of us would be happy just to have a new version, or eve
an homage of the 6306. So to have this has to have you smiling from ear to ear.
And you know, the lived in look is something that I think adds so much character
to a watch. I mean there is something about a watch when it has been worn as
well as enjoyed that is just THE best ! 8-) And you know so many brands agree
with that because they will make watches that look like they are aged or have
a patina like finish.

However, you have the real deal here sir, and I think you will be enjoying the
heck out of it. I hope you really enjoy it ! ..What a find/pick-up. Incredible !!!

Thanks tom! Wearing it today.

I still paid a decent amount for it as the dude sorta knew what he had, but it was still a bargain. He seemed more concerned it was going to a good home.

nice! sometimes you gotta just get lucky with things. i'm watching a local auction house auction that has a vintage zodiac seawolf, a vulcain cricket alarm, and a nice looking vintage quartz seiko dress watch (among some other tie tacks, cuff links, etc) and it's still under $30 with a few days left. *fingers crossed*
