Pulled the trigger on....

Post by stupops » Mon Mar 13, 2023 4:17 pm

Finally pulled the trigger on a Willard.
Been lurking around them for months (re-issues).
I was looking at the Green in my local shop but it was for sale at over £1000 which I cant do for a Seiko. As much as I love them.
I was also concerned about the size as my Sumo was a beast on mine. These hopefully sit shorter.
Anyhow. One of the limited black versions (limited to 5000 lol) was on sale for £800 GBP on my shopping feed plus they did Klarna. So its a bit of a no brainer.
See how it is when it arrives.
Fingers crossed. If its a keeper the mini turtle will have to go!

Congrats! I had a green Willard and sold it- i shouldn’t have because now I want another version.

Was it the Helly Hanson edition? I’ve been looking at those lately. I’ve also been wanting the slim Willard night vision series…
Can you tell me where you bought from?

Was it one of these?

Congrats, the Willard is probably my favorite Seiko, definitely the one I’ve owned the longest. Great looks and super comfortable.

Hi. No it was the limited black edition with the really cool brown nato.
It was the strap what sold me. And the price. The Green wasn't in the sale.

It was an online store. Never used them before. Watch o here in the UK. Seem legit and it's been shipped today.

Looks awesome on that strap.
The Green is lovely. Amd what I was looking at.
I am hoping I don't regret the £300 I saved on getting the black.

Well it turned up today.
Its quite fab. Wears MUCH smaller than I anticipated. With the re-engineered strap it kind of 'floats' on the wrist. Its quite something. The strap is an amazing colour as well. The rubber it comes with seems high end as well.
The black coating is superb and the finish on the whole its very good. Crystal is raised at the edges like my Black Bay heritage which gives it that vintage look. The hands look cool as well.
Lume is amazing. and the bezel lines up out of the box! ONly thing I can say I could live without is the Prospex X on the face But I've never liked that on any of the Seiko's I've owned. Definately doesn't sit right on this.
Couldn't be happier and is probably going to replace my Breitling Colt as the daily driver (which is saying something as I LOVE that watch).
Sadly, the PADI mini turtle will have to go as i am just not going to be wearing it and it deserves some love.
I don't seem to be able to post pictures - read the FAQ and couldn't see anything there.
