Well after some cleaning I had everyone in the house smell the strap to make sure no smells where noticeable in the nylon of the strap. The tuna/vegetable oil didn't even stain the strap either.

So I think it is safe to say that this strap will deal with what ever you throw at it.

Actually when I use to work at a bar in Louisiana I had to take the garbage out, well one time I slipped with the garabage can when dumping it in the dumpster and a whole bunch of old chewing tobacco in the can dropped on top of my head. Foul was an understatement.

I have washed mine once since I received it. Based on my wrist perspiration, various liquids it has encountered, and the associated grime it has held up with no staining or scent retention.
