Watch poll UPDATED 2/27/2016

Post by toxicavenger » Wed Feb 24, 2016 9:40 am

Let me state again that the Toxic watch idea will basically be something that is already on the shelf with the watch built "in the US", just a few things changed to my specs. Which could be as simple as different colored second hand and a different version of the minute/hour hands. Or even maybe a whole different dial. The goal isn't to reinvent the wheel but make a watch out of existing parts to build something super robust and on the cheap. If I start doing different case designs then I am going in a totally different direction. But they can do that at a latter date if I want too. A good example of what I am talking about is the Boschett Reef Ranger made for 3Testicals back in the say.

But I am doing a poll to see what everyone would think would be features they would want.

It will automatically have a sapphire crystal, 60 count divers bezel, screw down crown, C3 lume, solid endlinks with bracelet screws, spring bars in the case and 200m rating.

The automatic movement will probably raise the price about $50-65. I think longevity wise the quartz movement would be the best option. No drilled lugs at this time unless it doesn't cost an arm and leg to do it. Since this would be an addition to the already produced stock.

One other thing, this won't be happening right away, this is just putting the ideas together and going from there. ;)

I agree, as much as I hate to post this I think this is a good starting point, not exactly what I want though but something to start with idea wise

I went for no date & Quartz, currently looking for exactly that as a robust grab and go piece.

Yeah looked at those, Precista and Scurfa, haven't pulled the trigger though. Not sure why.

if it's a diver - automatic and SS case/bracelet

but have you thought about doing a non-diver though? for me, that would be more interesting. there are already so many divers designs out there that it might be a uphill battle to set yours apart from the rest even if your NATO is miles better.

Good point, I will keep that door open if I do decide to go forward with it.

I might be able to get this case with my own dial in it. It is Ti with a left-hand crown. It could probably even be rotated to be a right hand crown.

Man, you asked...
J/K. I've got to think that an acrylic crystal would be cheaper than sapphire. Miyota/crappy Seiko movement?

I like that case a lot. Also like the crown position.

As Rahul stated- acrylic would be cheaper. I don't care if it's Quartz but if It is I would like a nice ronda mvt. If auto it could be a cheap Seiko.

But the problem with acrylic is my guy would have to make a whole new case to fit the acrylic crystal. Not an option with my broke ass.

41mm which is perfect, but I would have to check on the lug width.
