raf42 wrote:Six micros here, and two pre-ordered (Orange Tornado and a Sea Storm). I find myself leaning towards my "nicer" watches more and more, but still enjoy them as beaters. Most only get a few hours at a time, though occasionally I'll put on one for 24 hrs.

My first micro. Great lume.

Image

A bit busy, but sapphire bezel and nice lume.

Image

Probably my favorite micro, though it is a beast. L2L at 51mm makes it wearable. Currently off to get a movement service because it stopped completely (ETA 2824-2 Top).

Image

I like orange. Really accurate. Fun to put on for outdoor activities.

Image

No wrist shots of this one, usually wear as a beater for a few hours. Took pic a while ago to show show it really looks nothing like an Aquatimer except for the bezel. Actually pretty fun to wear. "C3" Lume is shit on this one.

Image

Bought this one because I wanted to try a Tritium watch. Often wear it to bed or put on at night when traveling. Pretty blinding in the middle of the night and easy to quickly pickup the time. Not crazy about the bezel, but for < $250, it actually is pretty fun to wear.

Oh wow I don't know why I assumed the Tektite was much longer lug to lug. Makes me want it more now. Always wanted one but wasn't sure about wearability.

I just sold that same Poseidon in preparation for the meteorite coming in a few weeks.

I love that you have both the IWC and the Poseidon.

Can't wait to see the Tornados and Sea Storms arrive.

The Tektite is very well executed, though at 45mm it's certainly at my limit. It's also 17.9mm thick, though maybe 3mm is the top of the crystal and ring that surrounds it. It wears very well for the specs and sites down nicely.

If the 43mm Poseidon had a 50mm L2L (the original spec) instead of 52mm, it would have been a lot better and more balanced IMHO. The Aquatimer is 44mm and has a 50mm L2L (lots of watches have < 52mm L2L @43mm or greater - e.g. my PO GMT has 49mm L2L and is 43.5mm). The "stated" reason, IIRC, for the longer lugs was was to support more straps, but I think that ruined it for a lot of people and would have been a whole lot better at the originally advertised spec.

I feel you there. Yeah he has some 50mm lug to lug Poseidon prototypes. I remember Danny T saying something along the lines of it's a pain to play with straps on his Aquatimer auto chrono.

You'd probably like this one. I just got it 3 days ago and I'm loving it.

I'm a huge Microbrand fan so let's do this.

First of all, I'd like to start sharing my Holy Grail that I NEED one day but they've gone up from $750 brand new to over $1,200 lately.

Let's see what you own or have owned.
