Guys… looking for opinions ***Updated 7/28***

Post by Bradystraps » Thu Jul 13, 2023 6:38 pm

I’m continuing to work on the Northern Lights and looking for opinions. What would you change, if anything?

Thanks in advance for your time and input!

I’d get rid of the lume marker a the 6 for the date versions.

No idea if these will be, but ISO certification requires the lume marker.

The no-date looks a billion times better anyway.

I’d add the 10 on the bezel and consider more sword-like hands.

Is there a reason the 6:00 marker is flat-bottomed instead of pill shaped like 3 and 9?

Fully agree with @Baconoir.
Domed sapphire glass would be cool!
Beautiful design btw!

I really like the unique shape of the hands. I like the look of the blue dial no date.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aesthetics to match the 12 marker.

Updated renders.

I am producing the prototypes and hope to have them ready in September.

Thanks all for the great input!

Looks great. Will go against the grain and say you should have kept the 6 marker on the date version. As always, no date is the way to go though. Love the hands. Reminds me a little of the Hallgrimskirkja church in Reykjavik which was inspired by basalt cliffs in the country.

I agree about the 6 marker. It looks unbalanced without something there.

A white date wheel might make sense with no 6 marker if you could move the window down, but that might not work with the movement.

I prefer the lume marker at 6 on the date version too. It might not look quite right with it but it sure looks odd without it.
I'm really not keen on the hands although some seem to like them a lot and you can't please everyone all of the time. I'd like to see round ended hands personally, hour hand in yellow, minute hand in white.

They need green "northern lights" across the top of the dial.

The date version definitely looks off without the 6 marker.

The little Northern lights logo in green, tailing off into red or purple would look really cool but probably a printing nightmare
