What they don't tell you is it takes at least two years and you need to order 100. Still faster than MkII.

And, of course the album it came from, predicting DJ's addiction by decades:

^^^As an aside, the drummer on that album (and a shit tonne {see what I did there} of others...) was mighty studio and stage hired gun Simon Phillips. K and I once stayed in his bedroom/house for a week while {whilst} on tour in Southern California (Simon was on tour with Deep Purple at the time). He had a brass banker's lamp and doilies on his bed and desk; no other decorations or furnishings. Looked like a room for a 12-year old English kid at a 19th-c. boarding school. No shit.

Simon? Never met him. His roommate/renter was an English guy named Rowan Robertson; he was the guitarist for Ronnie Dio right after Viv Campbell left to join Def Leppard (post-"Holy Diver). Rowan was dating K and I's old college roommate, Angel, at the time. Technically, Rowan rented a room in Simon's Van Nuys rancher, but in actuality, Rowan was a de facto caretaker because: Simon Fucking Phillips. I mean, that guy has been on the road 300+ days a year for 3 decades. He apparently has houses scattered around the free world as investments; we happened to flop at the LA one for a week, because, musicians. The fact that it was Simon explains the sterile room, since the dude was *never* home.

All those rock guys from that era and area sort of stick together. Here's another story: Rowan owned a Les Paul Gold Top from the 50s that was worth way up into 5 figures, but almost nothing else; no car, no amp, nothing. When he went on the road with his band opening for Weezer, he had to borrow a vintage Marshall from Ronnie, who was always glad to lend Rowan whatever he had laying around. While we were staying with him, since we were touring in a 92 subaru legacy wagon, he asked us for a lift to Ronnie's warehouse to borrow this *killer* Marshall half stack from Dio. The warehouse was connected to Wendy Dio's antique store, which was on that fancy street that everyone knows (rodeo? maybe?) at any rate, before elf-man/killer singer Ronnie passed, Wendy was the brains behind the business end of things, sort of like Sharon to Ozzy. Except that not many people liked her, as she reportedly tended to be ill-tempered. So, at some point, she managed to piss off Paula Cole (former Peter Gabriel backup singer; won multiple Grammys for that album that had "where have all the cowboys gone" on it, etc.). So, Paula, who was pregnant right after that album had its big hit, went down to Wendy's store and sat in the picture window right up front, during rush hour, and breast fed her baby, topless, for an hour sitting on an 18th-c. French Chaise worth tens of thousands, while traffic snarled to a stop, because everyone driving by recognized Paula. She did it just to fuck with Wendy.

Rowan, a gazillion years ago, when he first joined Dio at age 17 (a direct quote: "it was a bit of a fairy tale, really, Michael..."):
