It's marketing by challenge/insult. The former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch did something similar in an interview some years ago. He basically said, "if you're too smart (i.e. NERD!), fat, or unattractive, our clothing really isn't for you."

Statements like that, while ridiculous and seemingly self-defeating on their face, may end up encouraging people to actually buy the product. "You think I'm ugly/fat/sedentary?! I'll show you - take my money!!"

I read it differently, Roger Doobey who?? You get Panerai cause you ran some NFK brand???
