What albums do you listen to front to back? (No skips)
What albums do you listen to front to back? (No skips)
Got in my car this a.m. and the first notes of "She's The One" came puring out of the speakers. This prompted me to punch up Born To Run (an absolute masterpiece) to finish out my 45min commute. 45 mins give one plenty of time for the brain to ponder, which brings me to the question at hand-
What are *your* albums with the most bang for the buck? (IE- No weak tracks you're likely to skip)
.
Aside from the previously mentioned Born To Run, here's some of mine just off the top of my head-
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly
Paul Simon - Graceland
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Re: What albums do you listen to front to back? (No skips)
Huey recently revealed that he's suffering from career ending hearing loss. Even though they haven't been as prominent, the News have been together and touring pretty much continuously up until very recently.

A great list compiled by others here and many would be on my list as well - especially Jeff's selection..
I would add Radiohead - OK Computer and In Rainbows.

Man I feel young over here.
Off the top of my head...
Weezers: blue album.
Killswitch engage: Alive or just breathing.
Hatebreed: satisfaction is the death of desire.
Metallica: lightning, puppets, and justice.

And Justice is such a sneaky album. It's not a go to album but when it's on, man, the songs are killer. Absolute best is Dyers Eve.....nweash wrote:Man I feel young over here.

I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, or the Backstreet Boys...

This may take some thought. With a short commute and many interruptions I rarely listen to more than a few songs at a time.

Lotsa good ones listed.
It occurred to me that there’s probably a bunch on the forums that dont understand “front” and “back” since they never had to flip an album...

Cool thread, and lots said that I'd include... top of head I'll add a couple that I don't think I saw:
Led Zeppelin IV
Prince - Purple Rain (and most of his albums prior to that to be honest)
Springsteen - Nebraska
Rush - Hemispheres, A Farewell to Kings
The Tragically Hip - Road Apples (Hometown band - RIP Gord).

Re: What albums do you listen to front to back? (No skips)
Nice idea Erik! I also have a 45min commute but lately I've been listening to a lot of podcasts. I do listen to music at work.
I see Justyn and Nick have similar music tastes
Incubus: Morning View
Green Day: Dookie and American Idiot
Red Hot Chilli Peppers: By the Way and Californication
Metallica: Death Magnetic (I'm a big Metallica fan but all their other albums have songs I skip. Lighting would be the next one, even though my 2 favorite songs are on the Black Album and on Justice).
Stone Temple Pilots: Core and Purple
U2: No Line on the Horizon (yeah, not a lot of people liked this one)
The Killers: Sam's Town (Superb)
The Raconteurs: Consolers of the Lonely
Oasis: (What's the story) Morning Glory?
Audioslave: Audioslave
Minus the Bear: Menos el Oso
Foo Fighters: Wasting Light
Live: Throwing Copper (cool songs and the singer has such a great voice)
Radiohead: OK Computer
Let see what else I can come up... I have a super playlist for the next couple of months.
I can add Spanish ones (Rock and Salsa) if anyone wants.
